Certainly, I think it's not too racy. Reno's a little risque, but nothing more than you'd see in a PG movie nowadays.

My middle school put on this production in November, it was really great, I had a supporting role, but it was so much fun. The oldest kids in the cast including me were 13. There are some jokes that most of us didn't get at first, and we had to cut out a scene, I think, but other than that, I really enjoyed putting on this show.

It was in "Gee, Officer Krupke." The expletive was eventually replaced with "Krup you!"

I think the musical is appropriate. I did this show twice (one 1962, one 1987). It's loads of fun, and it's not THAT inappropriate.
Seriously, I go to a catholic school, and even the priest & the deacon (pretty conservative ones, too) approved of the show. In fact, they loved it!

The only two times I've seen the production, both times were performed at a high school. Both were the 60s version revival. I've heard from people on this board before that the original version and the Lupone revival are far superior. But yeh, both times seeing the show it was the 1962 Off- Broadway revival edition.
P.S. I loved the show anyway. It is probably just a testament to the humor and Porter's songs.

About four years ago, my high school did this show. I wasn't in it, but my best friend was a chorus member. The whole thing was well recieved and ended up being our last musical.

My high school's doing it right now, so I don't see why not. We're doing the 1987 Beaumont version.

Re: Would this be appropriate for a high school?
My old high school did Anything Goes. It was the last show they did before I started doing high school theater (it was the spring musical when I was in 8th grade... five years ago ). I didn't get to see the show but I remember the preview assembly very well. There wasn't a lot too risque that I remember from the preview. Then again, I don't know the show beyond what they performed that day, but it should be safe for any high school to do.

Re: Would this be appropriate for a high school?
The high school that I am going to go to was supposed to do it. They had it casted and everything. But then the theatre company pulled the rights, so they did Guys and Dolls (when my middle school was doing it too )
