 Ashley Brown leaving Mary Poppins?!
So I read on broadway.com that Ashley Brown who is playing Mary Poppins in Mary Poppins on broadway is leaving broadway for the National Tour. What Im wondering is that did disney find someone better to paly Mary Poppins on broadway (highly doubt it) or did she just want to go on the tour you know see new places and people (which im thinking is the answer). If anyone knows the reason why could you let me know? thanks! Im just curious because if you have seen Ashley Brown then you know that she is amazing!

I'm glad she's finally leaving; she's a great talent and deserves better than this mediocre show. I tell you, it's amazing to me that Grey Gardens closes, yet Poppins is still there!

Well... she'd be leaving this production to do another production of MP. So she'll still be stuck with Mary... so there's not much to be glad about.

If she's what makes the show, is it, in fact a good show?

It's better with someone who can do the accent.
Of course, she may have developed one by now.

i adore the show, so i know a lot of you will stop reading right here
ashley's really improved a lot since the show's debut, i believe.
her accent had gotten a great deal more genuine the last time i saw it.
i think she's a wonderful talent and the tour's very lucky to have her and gavin.
