 Lord Evelyn Oakleigh pronunciation
Eh-vel-in
OR
Ee-vel-in
I think it's technically supposed to be Ee, but my director said it didn't really matter and then told us all to say Eh.

Everyone in our cast called him "Eh-velyn" but because of the joke at the beginning where the reporter calls him Edith and the fact that having Reno call him "Eh-vie" sounds really weird, we switched it to "Eve-elyn". I think that is how it is supposed to be pronounced, however your director may think otherwise. This is a case of "director knows best" I'd say. Go with what they want.

It is pronounced Eh-veh-lyn. And Reno says Eh-vee. I've never heard of anyone, man or woman, named Ee-ve-lyn.

I live in the UK. Normaly in the UK the name is pronounced EH (if it is a man), and EE (if it is a woman).

I think the student director tried to sneak in saying Evilene a couple of times too, I caught it, but I never said anything though because, well I'm mature.

Your right it is never pronounceed EE-VE-LYN. But there are two pronounciations. They are E-VE-LYN (which is the EH),or EVE-LYN (which is the EE). This is what the people on this board are talking about. I have heard both used for both MALE and FEMAIL.
