It's not closing till early next year.

Even when it closes its doing a UK Tour, its not leaving Europe just because its closing in London.

I've seen it in London (LOVED it!), but I wonder if a lot of the spectacle and special effects will be severely trimmed... although Miss Saigon managed...hmm...

I hope I get to see it before it closes!!!

I assume the house set will be severly trimmed down. Althought having said that, I was the show whilst it was previewing in Bristol, UK, and they had the full set then, so perhaps if they chose venues that could cope with the set

People have said that when it closes, it will tour the United Kingdom. And I said I assume the house will be trimmed down.

When you saw it in Bristol, they had the full set because they were using it as if they doing in the WEst End. It was like the San Fran tryouts for Broadway shows.

There are a few theatres dotted around that are large enough for the full set. The Manchester Palace, for one. So a slow tour could well be done with little to no reduction - the problem would be ensuring that there's somewhere for Mary to fly to at the end, I think. Also I think I heard that, in keeping with a fairly new trend, the tour will start in the UK, then go off around Europe.

They managed to tour Chitty. So it could be done, but the flying over the audience might be a no no. The child catcher didn't on tour.

The likelihood of somewhere accessible but hidden for her to fly to is probably remote, I agree. But I doubt it'll look significantly worse if she just goes across the prosc - at least she won't swing back and forth!

When I saw a panto at the same place I saw Chitty on tour, Peter Pan flew across the audience, but came from an entrance at the back of the circle and landed on the stage that was "out" of the pro arch, so she just had a simple wire / tracks.
