Whether you're a member of the production team, cast, crew, musician, technician or general dogsbody, there is one rule which governs everything you do.

This is not just about YOU.

Every production is a team effort. You are only important in the sense that you are a member who contributes to the team. Everything you do should be done to help the team.

If everyone puts the team first, then every individual will shine.

Second that! I saw (on yahoo answers) one understudy that asked if he or she should put in any effort into her part if he or she wasnt likely to be on stage for the six evenings the stage was played! I mean, come on? If you cant do this for the team now when can you?

And the same is thrue if you mess something up or even broke something, dont hide it in shame but let people know if they have to. Youre call might saved the day for the show! And for the managers never yell at people telling the thrue! "Accept" what they did and focused on whats need to be done. Theyre probably very well awere about theyre misstake anyway. If people need to be pulled in theyre ears do it another day.

Youre there for a reason and the reason is not you!

If the theatre only has stage mics and not individual ones, for the love of god don't mumble or talk normally. There's only so much one can adjust the stage mics to accommodate you. Even if we can turn the closest one to you up to it's maximum and SOMEHOW avoid noticeable feedback (which by the way, if it is done and we still can't hear you, take voice lessons or acting lessons and learn how to freaking project!), it still will throw the volume levels out of whack. And god forbid a projecting actor turns towards you.

So please, for the sound crew's sanity and the audience, project.
