Playbill has an interesting interview with Alice Hammerstein Mathias, which is well worth a read. There's some interesting stuff about her work on Carousel as a researcher and about her love for Carmen Jones and Show Boat.

Great article! Though, as a King and I junkie, I question her thoughts that "I Have Dreamed" is a 'what if...?' song. As far as Lun Tha and Tuptim are concerned, it's more of 'when' than 'if'; it's almost a certainty.
