Post Audition help - where to cut music?
Hey guys, sorry if this doesn't belong here but i have a surprise audition for spelling bee in less than a week. I'm going to sing 32 bars of "I'm Not Afraid" from SFANW, but I don't know where to cut the music to give the best range of vocals / not be all belting. Any advice? I'm a mezzo soprano belt who admittedly has not done much singing in the past couple months ): but oh well. Thanks!

You want to show off your voice range, but at the same time make sure you are confident with the part you choose to sing. Is there a number of bars it needs to be cut to? Most directors ask you to sing 16, 32, or somewhere in between. Try to find a verse or two that perfectly fits in that range, (you don't want the director to cut you off in the middle of a line, before you even get to the best part)
