 Re: London Cast 2011/2012
Hmmm... not sure how I feel about this. I absolutely loved Alexia as Elphaba in Wicked, and her voice is amazing - I just don't know how well her voice or her acting will suit Eponine. Although she stuck to the Wicked score pretty faithfully I believe - only riffing on her last show, I think - so I don't think we will be getting R&B style Eponine like the tour. She is one of my fave actresses in the West End playing in one of my fave W-E roles.. so I feel very conflicted!

http://www.facebook.com/notes/les-miser ... 9626909449And of course there has to be an April Fools' prank with Matt Lucas as Valjean.

And one with Miley Cyrus as Eponine. Although I liked the comment better which said Justin Bieber applied for Gavroche and was refused but offered to play Cosette instead ....

 Re: London Cast 2011/2012
Someone on WOS boards has posted that Jessie Buckley is to be Fantine, but I'm not sure how plausible that is because she's too young.
Someone else (a guest) has posted that they heard a rumour that AB (presumably Alfie Boe) has pulled out of all of his Les Mis committments. Again, that seems a bit implausible as he's been so prominent in promoting himself going into the show, but at the same time, his career has taken off lately, and he might be under a lot of pressure to promote his album worldwide. If true, I think he's made a mistake, as he'll get a lot of badwill. His involvement with Les Mis and the promotion he's had through it, and on the presumption he'll be the new Valjean has boosted his career and it would look very ungrateful to cut ties now. Unless of course he's had to pull out for personal reasons, in which case I'm sorry.
It might all be rubbish, but Adam Linstead was in at the theatre yesterday. I know they don't start rehearsals for another month, but I'm guessing this is the time they finalise paper-work and do wardrobe checks etc.

Ooooo...if Boe bails on Les Miz, he is seriously going to tick a LOT of fans off. I've seen tons of messages on Twitter from people who are going to London just to see him later this year.
Unless, as you said, it's for an unavoidable personal reason.

 Re: London Cast 2011/2012
Apparently Caroline Sheen is going to be the new Fantine which gives us a complete principal cast list for the first... three months.
Valjean: Alfie Boe until the 26th November and not on Mondays and Wed matinees Alternate Valjean: Jonathan Williams Javert: Hadley Fraser Fantine: Caroline Sheen Marius: Craig Mather Cosette: Lisa-Anne Wood Eponine: Alexia Khadime Enjolras: Liam Tamne M Thénardier - Matt Lucas until the 10th September Mme Thénardier - Katy Secombe
I'm most excited to see Caroline Sheen, Craig Mather and Lisa Anne-Wood, I think. Not at all excited about the stunt casting bit of it, though, still, not sure about Alexia Khadime and really can't imagine Liam Tamne as Enjolras at all. Oh, and I'm ridiculously excited for George as swing! That'll be amazing. It'll be strange to have a day of 'Oh look, George is on as Bamatabois!'...

Cast change announcement on the official website: http://www.lesmis.com/node/399It just confirmed what Eppie-Sue had already made public in the posting above. But I am sure it also contains some info that will make Quique ...

 Re: London Cast 2011/2012
Dude! You made my heart stop there for a second.
I thought there might have been a new outrage to rant about. Like, like...the removal of the revolve for a NEW state-of-the-art, money savin' plain ol' flooooor featuring freshly painted and glorious, NEWly polished cobblestones!
I already knew about the NEW orchestration travesty, with its woodwind dominating noise taking over John's expressive, iconic masterful originals in celebration of the show's 25th anniversary. So not new to me, but thanks for the massive coronary.
*Catches breath*

Yep, it seems so. At least according to theatremonkey, and they usually get things right.

 Re: London Cast 2011/2012
Interesting that he spent 30 mil of his own dough to give his theatres (including the Queen's) a face lift back in '02/'03 but he just now makes it a priority to expand the pit, and to accommodate requirements for the newish orchs, but not the originals? Not even the definitive, updated, timeless 10th ann. ones? Maybe he got into a row with John Cameron and now hates him? XD
Kidding, obviously. But those rows with musician's unions he readily engaged in in support of glorified midi when expansion of the pit would have been pocket change to him does nothing to restore my faith in him.
