Post audition ballad for mezzo
I am trying out for "A Christmas Carol" in a few weeks and I decided I wanted to sing a ballad. I was sharpay in HSM so the director already knows I can sing up tempo songs so I want to show a different side to my voice. I am a mezzo soprano so it would be great if you could suggest some ballads that fit my range, THANKS :)

Is this the Menken Christmas Carol? If yes, then I'd maybe recommend "Home" or "Change in Me" from BatB. Also, for ages, my pet mezzo audition song was "Someone Like You" but all three of those get pretty overdone. Hrm... "Gimme Gimme" from Thoroughly Modern Millie (it's sort of somewhere inbetween tempo), or "Hold On" from The Secret Garden? Maybe?

Thanks so much for your suggestions! I dont think I should do anything from BATB because the director recently directed it. I am thinking about "someone like you" and "gimme gimme". Do you think "i can hear the bells" would be ok cause it has an inbetween tempo? Also any other ideas you have would be great! :D

"I Can Hear The Bells" is a good inbetween tempo song for sure - it's long though so if you decide to go with that one, make sure you pare it down to the best few bars. "Someone Else's Story" from Chess is another one I've used in the past.
