Why thank you Brig! Is this the show you told me about?

(these next roles are named in the program but I'm really not sure who they are, Teapot might know though, as she saw the production)

OF COURSE! Does this clarify things?
Veronica Franco- Laura/PittisingPoyns
Marco Venier- Shane/Broadway Beast
Maffio Venier- Jordan/JMan (Marco’s cousin, a failed poet and a bitter man, who lusts for Veronica and envies her talent)
Paola Franco- Chev (I figured her recent appearance qualified her to be cast) (Veronica’s mother, herself a former courtesan)
Domenico Venier- ScottinKC (Maffio’s uncle, Veronica’s friend and literary mentor, who provides most of the exposition.)
Beatrice Venier- Erika/ NoOneMournstheWicked (Marco’s sister, married to an elderly but politically important doge, longing for her freedom and for personal value.)

(these next roles are named in the program but I'm really not sure who they are, Teapot might know though, as she saw the production)
Giulia- Maggie/SmallTownIngenue (Marco’s wife)
Bishop DellaTorre- Patch (The libertine bishop of Venice who enjoys Veronica’s gifts, but is willing to let the Inquisitor have her)
Tintoretto- Dan/ Random (The famous painter, who finds Veronica exquisite)
Ramberti- Quique
Grand Inquisitor- SBD (Really the fanatic Savanarola, with whom the reformed and jealous Maffio colludes to place Veronica on trial.)
There are also roles for Pietro Venier, (Marco’s powerful father)
Tron ( a courtier)
And six dual roles of courtesans/good wives.

Thanks, Teapot! I thought Domenico was Marco's father for some reason, but, eh, casting still works! And I had NO idea who Tron was so I left that out. ;)

Yes, Laura, this is the one I sent you the link to. Girl power! :)

Since I miss it, I'm going to cast The Rake's Progress on here. Let's pretend it's a musical and not an opera, but keeping the vocal ranges roughly the same :)

Tom Rakewell, a narcissistic young man who is bored with his life . . . . . Shane (BroadwayBeast)
Nick Shadow, the devil in disguise who "befriends" Tom . . . . Pannic
Anne Trulove, Tom's innocent and pure true love . . . . Maggie (SmallTownIngenue)
Baba the Turk, a famous and fiery bearded lady whom Tom marries . . . . . Lyss (idTAPthat) -- this was my role, so consider it a big compliment! ;)
Father Trulove, Anne's father . . . . . Rorgg
Mother Goose, madam of the baddest brothel on earth . . . . . Laura (pittising_poyns) -- possibly aged
Sellem, a rather manic auctioneer . . . . . Jordan (Jman)
Keeper of Bedlam, the, well, keeper of Bedlam . . . . . David (RainbowJude)

Chorus . . . anyone who fancies a stint at being a whore, a roaring boy, a Baba groupie, a schadenfreude-y rich person, or a Bedlam inmate!

This casting choice was never saner.

^ If that was a post on Facebook, I would like it.

In our production, the director had me dancing behind a scrim during "Come master, observe the host of mankind", so I basically learnt the aria by ear. And now you've got it stuck in my head ... *hums it*
