 Costume Question
Hi there, my college is putting on a production of Cabaret and I am helping organize costumes. I was thinking of putting the Kit Kat Girls in character shoes, but I'm afraid they will make a lot of noise on our stage. Does anyone have any ideas for silencing character shoes (that wouldn't be too expensive as we are self-funded and have limited resources)?

 Re: Costume Question
You can take them to a shoe repairs place and get rubber soles affixed. That reduced the noise mine made considerably. But I don't know if that would end up being too expensive or not...

 Re: Costume Question
Stick a bit of fabric underneath them with some double sided tape?

 Re: Costume Question
Thanks - I've thought of rubber, but I'm worried about the price. Brackenn - do you remember how much it cost? It would have to be fairly cheap as we have 6 kit-kat girls (all college students).
I've also heard of hot gluing felt to the bottom. Has anyone had any experience with that? I'm worried about it being slippery.

 Re: Costume Question
Rubberize them or nothing. These other ideas are not safe. And really, character shoes are not that hard. If you're that worried about it, use ballet teacher shoes.
