Post Monologues for Pre-College/Camps
Hey everyone
I am going to be auditioning for musical theatre pre-collge/camps for over the summer and I need one comedic and one dramatic female monologue (age range of about 15-18). I have played a variety of roles from Olivia in Twelfth Night to Soloist/Ensemble in Les Mis. I plan on studying musical theatre in college. I'm on the taller side and have brownish hair. I typically play a motherly or diva type character, but can play and connect to any role (under the right guidence, of course). I'm looking a monologue that really shows off my ability to understand a character emotionally, and a monologue that displays my comedic timing.
Please let me know of any suggestions for plays that you all may have.
Thank you so much! You're a really a huge help!

I'll have to take a look, but for starters you can check out stageagent.com and musicaltheateraudition.com

I have recently auditioned for college, and if you are giving the camps a resume, then I recommend that your monologues be from shows that you have not already done. For example, if you do a Cosette monologue, and they see that you were in Les Mis, they might think you are doing what you learned from that Cosette, or whatever. I dont know. But I think it shows a larger range if your monologues are from different shows. Just an opinion.

Thanks for the insight! I was hoping to get a list of plays with characters close to my range, so that way I can read a wide variety of shows and decide from there. A large requirement at these camp auditions is to also be able to discuss the play at the auditions. Thanks! :D
