So, there is a rumor going around that Damn Yakees will be my school musical this year. At least, it's an option the directors are looking at. I'm a senior, and really hoping to finally have a lead role this year. I've read a synopsis, and can tell that Meg and Lola are the two main female parts. Can anyone tell me how often these two are on stage each? How many songs do they have? How many scenes are they in? do they have a lot of speech, or just "there"? are their songs long? if they don't sing by themselves, do they have duets?

any information is appreciated, and thanks in advance!

This is a great and fun show! Both Meg and Lola have a lot of stage time including songs and dialog. They are two very different roles. It depends on your style of singing which role would suit you better. Meg has more ballads and Lola gets more upbeat material as well as a great torch song. Meg doesn't have to dance, but Lola has to be a really good dancer in order to be convincing. Pick the role that suits you best and enjoy doing the show. Everyone I know who has done it had a great time.
