Re: Chess - New UK Tour 2010
I was sure I had sent a post about this, but seems I haven't! Saw the new production a couple of weeks ago and really enjoyed it. It is very much like I thought it might be (and explained in "Would an Actor/Musician production of Chess work? thread.) The performances are amazing - fantastic voices from everybody. The staging is exciting and imaginative and the actor / musician concept works really well. The music sounds brilliant, and beautifully orchestrated, so basically I loved it. It's very much the London script with a few of the new lines / words from the RAH Concert version. This is the first time I have seen a production that has any of the excitement and style that was a big part of the London production. A must see for anybody who loves Chess, BUT also for anybody who enjoys seeing a stage filled with an amazingly talented company. Go see if you can - you'll love the experience. Re: Chess - New UK Tour 2010
Are they not using the concert script? I thought that version was supposed to become the "standard" licensed version of the show around the world? Is that no longer the plan?

I wouldn't mind seeing a review from you, mate. Doesn't need to be particularly detailed; just a brief summary of what to expect would suffice.

I would love a review! I am seeing it in Woking in February! Can't wait! But I do wonder, is the Arbiter really as flat as he is in the trailer?

Woking in Surrey, England? Ah, then you'll be around my neck of the woods.

I can't be the only one who watched the trailer and thought it looked absolutely awful...can I?

What do you think is awful about it? The direction seems great, and the concept is brilliant.
