...I also noticed that Kennedy went lighter on the belting, but it didn't bother me so much. It's different, but good, although I admit I probably will miss the big-ass Lupone style belting the part usually comes with...
Che looks awesome. I'm very excited for this XD

The New York Times has put out a favourable review for the Festival in general, but especially for Christopher Plummer in The Tempest and Evita. It's quite interesting how the American reviewer seems to have the exact opposite stance from the Canadian reviewers on all the other productions apart from those two.

Gah! I've missed you guys! Site'sbeen down, so I haven't been able to write anything, but Petre Pan was AWESOME! Emma, if you think David Tennant was spry in Hamlet, he and Michael Therriault could have their won Cirque de Soleil act XD. No wor dof a lie, he was literally hanging from door frames. Then again, I probably shouldn't have been surprised as he also plaed Gollum in the LOTR musical...
Still haven't booked Evita yet though...I'll tell you when I know...

Re: Evita at the Stratford Festival
I did end up seeing this late in its run. It was very good. Chilina sounded great, though I noticed she had a slight lisp that I had never detected in any of her other performances. Maybe she was recovering from dental surgery, I don't know. I saw a matinee and she had no trouble with anything in the score. Josh Young was the standout as Che. Really well sung and acted; a very compelling and intelligent performance. He's playing Judas in JCS next year and he ought to be great in that part.
