 Foreign Productions?
This is one thing that I've been wondering about a lot recently. I know that there was the Broadway and Revival production and there was a production and a revival in London, but have there ever been any foreign versions of the show done in other countries?

A couple of years ago there was a version that was sung in Spanish or Catalan (so I guess it's from Barcelona?). There is a cast recording.

 Re: Foreign Productions?
Are you sure about Norway? Because unless I am mistaken, our theatre was supposed to host the Norwegian Premiere Production in 2009, but because of funding issues it never went anywhere after casting.

 Re: Foreign Productions?
A couple of girls in my choir were in the production at Romerike Folkehøyskole, one of them played Little Red. They have sweaters with the logo to prove it, haha
I guess your proposed producion would be the first professional production.

Does Australia count as foreign? Or do you just want non-English ones.
There is a German version with translation by Michael Kunze.

There was? I'll have to check that out.
Australia counts. Was there an Australian one? I'd like to hear more about it.
There is a German version? I'm going to have to try and look that up, I'd love to hear/see something from that production.

All I can find of the German one is two videos on youtube of Ich Weiss Jetzt Mehr (I Know Things Now).
I'm not sure how many Proffessional productions there have been in Australia, but the original had Sharon Millerchip as Little Red. There have been heaps of amateur productions.

The Wicked Australia cast (Sydney) performed Into the Woods for a one night charity benefit concert, too.

I know that there was a Japanese production, or that there is one in the works. If you look on youtube there are rehearsal clips. Apparently the girl who plays Little Red is a child star or something along those lines.
If Canada counts as foreign then I know that the Stratford Festival added the show to their repertoire at some point in the recent past.

There has been a dutch production 3 years ago. This same production will make a tour next season. Unfortunately there isn't a cast recording.

 Re: Foreign Productions?
I know this is an old thread, but according to this page, there was a 2008 Barcelona production and a recording with the title Boscos Endins (in Catalan). Has anyone heard this recording? EDIT: Found a video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WH_emnlTj7o
