Oh I loved it! I dont know why you wouldnt do, I thought it was great fun, and all the spectacle was amazing!
I know there are people who sneer at spectacle, but even though I love the music, lyrics, characters, choreography etc, I do love the spectacle, its part of what theatre is for me, seeing interesting fun different things that take you to a different place in a story etc.
But yeah, I loved the show, I thought it was wonderful

I wasn't a fan when I saw it in Manchester.
It just varied far too much from the original film, and the chemistry between Bert and Mary was just none existant.

I really wanna see the live version now, looking at some clips and listening to the songs. Too bad "Temper, Temper" got cut. I would have really liked to see that! Stupid, that it got taken out and replaced wih a song that I have heard is not even as good. It's got a good choral sound, and a fairly good visual appeal. And they thought it was too scary for the younger ones, when the parents were well aware of the warning, and did not heed it? Honestly, I will never understand people.

 Re: Do you like it?
It was fair enough! It's no Fiddler or Sweeney, but it was good for what it was and exceeded my expectations.

 Re: Do you like it?
I saw the Finnish version of Mary Poppins (I hadn't seen the movie before) and I've never left a theatre smiling so broadly than then. It made me and my friend so childlishly happy, we giggled in the train the whole way home. So yeah, I like it!

 Re: Do you like it?
I saw the show on Broadway and didn't enjoy myself at all.
The ONLY enjoyable part was when Andrew Kennan-Bolger was gracing the stage with his presence.
When he wasn't there, the show sucked. All spectacle, terrible score, underdeveloped book, and the magic tricks were lame.

I thoroughly enjoyed it. I frequently listen to the soundtrack and take a gander at my souvenir program from the show.

 Re: Do you like it?
Easily one of the best shows I saw in NY. I absolutly loved it. You have to take it for what it is of course, but if you're just looking for a good time, this is the one.
