Just curious There are so many I love but this is hands down my favorite!

Apparently, 'Wicked Witch of the East' was taken off the CD because it gave away too much.

My favourite scene would probably have to be the Ozdust Ballroom scene. Before the end of 'Dancing through Life' when Elphaba does her dance and G(a)linda joins her. It's so sweet and truly a turning point for both characters.

"Wicked Witch of the East" and the Cornfield scene are my favorites. Very few duos nail the cornfield scene properly though. There have only been two that have got an accurate pacing/delivery down: Idina/Cheno, Hilty/Eden. That's not to say, as individuals, some of the Elphs and Glindas haven't done just fine, but those are the only two pairings, from what I've seen, that truly just nail the dialogue, however silly some (if not most) of it may be.

Mine would have to be the one directly preceding the finale. The Wizard's revelation is always truly and utterly heartbreaking.

^^ My only problem with it, however, as a scene, is that it's ridiculously predictable. Heartbreaking, absolutely, there's no doubt about that. But, throughout the show the Wizard makes so many references specifically TO Elphaba about wanting to be a father, that it's a no brainer. Just like Fiyero's twist (excuse the pun).

Actually, I meant to say, that my biggest pet peeve with the cornfield scene, is that there's no reference to the Witchs' altercation ten minutes prior in front of Dorothy. Holtzman acts as though it didn't happen. My problem with this, is that Holtzman claimed to have written the show's book around the sole fact that everything in The Wizard of Oz is fact. Events wise anyways. I would have just liked to have seen more allusion to the recent events, esp. those in The Wizard of Oz movie. For example, I wrote a kind of fan fiction of my own (I'm obviously no playwright, so just bear with me here)

Glinda: I thought you left.
Elphaba: Guess again.
Glinda: What do you want? You already scared the munchkins half to death, not to mention that poor girl!
Elphaba: And her little dog, too. (Laughs)
Glinda: Elphaba, really, you don't--
Elphaba: Don't what? "Have any power here"? I take it you didn't hear what happened to Boq.
Glinda: Actually, I did.
Elphaba: And?
Glinda: And I feel just awful about it!
Elphaba: You should.
Glinda: You cannot blame me or anyone else for Nessa's mistakes, Elphaba! After what she did to Boq, she got what she deserved. (Elphaba stops and takes this in) I didn't mean that.
Elphaba: Yes you did.
Glinda: Elphaba, I--
Elphaba: I wanted something to remember her by, and that is left were those shoes, and now that wretched little farm girl has walked off with them! (continue with the scene as written)

It's clearly less than brilliant (it's 2am right now and I have no experience in this), but you get the picture. I'd do my best to include more, but I literally can't even keep my eyes open right now haha.

I love the Cornfield scene, The Wicked Witch of the East and the Finale.

Yes, I like that idea too. One of my friends saw Wicked and was really confused. I think that would have made it more clear.

A lot of people unfamiliar with the book seem to have this problem. I really think that the script needed more tightening up. For example, Elphaba talks about Animals and while I get the reference because of my familiarity with the book, anyone else can easily get very confused.
If only we had written it, it would have been so much better *sigh*
