am usch stronger book than the webber version..Kopit knows how to write. the yeston score is better thsan Webber's but not brillaint.
i loved the non musical tv minniserie of this version starring CVharles Dance,Teri Polo , Burt Lancaster,and Ian Richardson.

Better than Andrew Lloyd Webber's version, but that's not saying much. The music is mediocre, like most of Yeston's work, and the book is okay. The characters are not interestingly written and the part at the end about Carriere being the Phantom's dad was contrived and silly.

I love most of the music, but some of the songs can get repetitive, but the same can be said for ALW's version. I've never seen a stage production of Yeston's though, aside from the non-musical mini series, which I loved.
But my favorite song would have to be "Home". So beautiful.

It's okay, I've only heard the recording and read the synopsis, but it's not the best musical I've heard.
That said, it beats Phantom of the Opera easily. The score is good, not his best score, but good.

Nine imo is his dullest score.
his work of Titanic was brillaint as was the extra stuff he wrote for Grand Hotel... the rest of Yestons work is wanting.

I like individual songs and I love the mini-series. I still haven't had a chance to actually see the musical onstage yet...

I said "most" of Yeston's work... Nine being the exception. I think Nine is wonderful.

I saw a production. It's a bit jarring how light and fluffy some parts are, but some of the stuff that's really good... is really good.

I think Nine's decent. I don't find it dull, but I don't think it's brilliant. Titanic is undeniably his best score, and his additions to Grand Hotel were great too. Phantom is an interesting creature; I like it better than ALW's, despite some of its very obvious flaws.
