Okay guys! Since you asked, you shall recieve!!

This is the way it's going to work:

1) Choose a character or characters you'd like to audition for. There will be NO GENDER BENDING here, as we'd like to keep it traiditional to some extent.

2) Pick a song from the show that THAT character sings, and do a cut from it, OR the whole thing. It's up to you. If you're doing a character like Nessa, Boq or even Morrible, just do any and/or all of their selections. It's up to you. We may ask you to sing more for that character however, or for a different character all together. Don't read into it either way though.

3) Record your song. This can be done in a multitude of ways. You can do a video of you singing, or just get a mic and use a program like GarageBand (for macs) or Audacity (for PCs). As long as the sound quality is good, it doesnt matter If the sound quality sucks, however, we may ask you to re-record. If we do, don't take it offensively. We honestly wanna hear you in the best way possible, and if the quality sucks, it might affect how you sound, ya know?

4) Send a PM to me with your username, characters auditioning for, song selections, and either attatch your songs, or upload them to a host site like YouTube, Putfile etc.

5) Please note that your audition WILL be posted on MDN, as I want the members voting. There will be a separate thread all together when it comes time for voting, so for right now, just concentrate on recording your stuff and getting it in on time.

6) In your PM, ALSO vote on whether or not you want this to be a traiditonal recording or more like an "All-Star" album. This must be decided BEFORE voting occurs for parts. What this means, basically, is, would you guys rather have one person as each part, like a true cast recording, OR separate tracks, like an "All-Star Recording" in which different people do each song and therefore more people get to be featured. This is UP TO YOU GUYS. I don't care either way honestly, I just want everyone to be happy

ALSO, on a similar note, PLEASE let me know if you want there to be an ensemble on the recording made up of you guys, or the OBC recording's ensemble. Basically, if we're going to have an ensemble, it needs to be FIERCE and made up of really dedicated people (we'd keep it small of course), who can really hold a part. We'll separate the notes and stuff, so you know exactly what you need to sing (there will be an actual alto/tenor/baritone/soprano part sent to you in midi format so you can hear it and learn it etc), OR, we can take the easy route, and just keep the OBC background vocals. PLEASE let me know which you'd prefer.

6) PLEASE SUBMIT ALL AUDITIONS BY JUNE 15th. This will be the FINAL deadline. No questions, no exceptions. If this is going to work, deadlines MUST be respected. If they're not, when it comes time to actually record ALL of the songs, people will blow off everything. Believe me, I've seen it done. It's not cool.

7) HAVE FUN!!!! The ONLY reason I'm doing this is so we can have lots and lots of fun. NO DRAMA will be tolerated at ALL So just do your best and make the most of it! <3

My friend Neva, who's username on here I forget (she rarely goes on here) will be my "right hand man" throughout this, as she will be mixing everyone's vocals when the time comes etc. She is a master at that software, and this couldn't be possible without her. When she starts visiting more frequently you guys will LOVE her.

EDIT: Please, if auditioning for Glinda, PLEASE do BOTH a legit cut AND a belt cut as well. It is vital you be able to sing both legit AND belt for Glinda, esp. if we're doing a REAL recording. For the belt selection, it'd be wisest to do either Popular or Thank Goodness (obviously not the ending), or even For Good (though it's more low than anything), and for the legit, either NOMTW or the end of TG. Hope this isn't too much to ask!

I want to try out for Glinda and Elphaba (mostly because i just started listening to Wicked songs, and they are they only ones i know so far...) Should i just sing one song from each, or...? the songs i know by heart are: Popular, Defying Gravity, No Good Deed, and For Good.

Sorry about that. I should have mentioned. Just about EVERY karaoke track is on YouTube. Go on there and use those. If you can't find something for whatever reason, let me know, and I'll help out. I have all of the backing tracks anyways



Whatever is your natural accent It won't have an effect on your audition at all, but I mean, if you CAN do an American one, that WOULD be best, as it would make the recording more unified, sound wise, BUT, if you can't, don't even worry about it. It's no biggie.



Yes, sorry I didn't make this more clear. If you want to audition for separate characters, please do a separate song for each. That way, we can hear you in the context of that character. It wouldn't be fair to judge you for Elphaba, singing one of Glinda's songs, esp. NOMTW or Thank Goodness.

As a side note, you CAN do more than one song, and for Glinda, it is RECOMMENDED that you do. This is because she sings both in belt AND legit, and personally, I'd like to hear the contenders do both, as it's vital she use them both. I'll put this in the initial rules, just so it's more clear

does hair color matter? by the way I'm totally in. I'm just kind of crap with technologu so I will maybe borrow my brother's webcam or something. also is there a limit of how many characters to go for. I love all the music in wicked and just for fun would love to submit for nessa, glinda, and elphie since they are all so much fun!
