Post An odd similarity
I've just been to a drama school production of Sideshow which is not a musical I'm particularly familiar with (loved it though!). However, when the big number which ends Act 1 (Who Will Love Me As I Am) began, I suddenly thought "I've heard this before." Nope, I hadn't ever heard it before, but it bears an unbelievable resemblance to For Good. Or, should I say, For Good bears an unbelievable resemblance to Who Will Love Me As I Am which pre-dates it by a good five years. Here's a YouTube vid of Alice Ripley and Emily Skinner, the two original stars of the show singing the song - have a listen and see if you agree with me....

Hmm. They are pretty similiar. But nothing beyond the overuse of similes ("like a...") and the female-female power ballad. Musically, they're pretty different.
