i really dont think it would go over well if idina did it. i mean shes been in the OBC and its just so expected for her to play it in the movie then it kinda just ruins it.

-ramble over- i'm relishing in cocoa-induced ecstasy right now so everything I'm sprouting might be complete crap. Feel free and verbose, dear children.

Lauren Ambrose would be a good Elphaba, if a bit young. And I dont' knwo if she sings or not.

I do not want the OBC, I want a fresh cast album with new orchestrations and a new cast!

I think it would be a good idea to have all new actors! I say, let those who haven't had a chance to prove their worth, try! It would be pretty hectic, though, if they held a cattle call.

Aside from anything else, the majority of the people seeing the film aren't going to care if a certain character is played by whoever played them first. They might notice, however, if someone who is supposed to be 17 looks like they're 30.

^ completely true! But they'll probably cast slightly older people for the 2 leads as they can age people down a fair bit, but they shouldn't really go above 35 for a movie... Hope they cast teens for Nessarose worldwide!! *prays*

Maybe they'll have a younger set and older set of cast?

They might change the plot so that only a few months passes between "Act 1" and "Act 2", or have 20 years or so between them...

You never know.

I see where you're going with this.

Maybe, they will cast people from Britain...

First of all I'd love to have an Elphaba who could pronounce their T's. I know I've aid it before, but arggghhh, "gravity" does NOT have a D in it!

Sadly, not even English Elphabas can claim that skill. Kerry seems to think that she is defying "graverdee".

There was a post on the IMDb boards suggesting Justin Timberlake for Fiyero... 8O
They suggested Richard Gere for the Wizard, though, which would be cool, but Christopher Walken would be amazing.
