Re: Legit Broadway advice
As I am not a man, or a tenor, so I only have limited advice
But here it is-
Cutting an audition to 1/2 of a song is probably preferable, as most auditions will only want a 1-2 minute selection anyways, sometimes less. So don't worry about that. I do think the SOM selections will be overdone. Duet--->solo, sure, why not? Again, you probably only need about a minute or two of music anyways. Sorry, I don't think I know any uptempo legit tenor songs. If I think of any I'll come back.
Other legit options- how about "Make Believe" (the first half) or "You Are Love" from Show Boat? If you have the chops, You Are Love goes up to a Bflat, I think. A good show-off balad.
