I really do recommend Bye Bye Birdie. It draws a good crowd every time because a lot of the older patrons get all of the jokes. You could definitely pull off Rosie, which is the main female lead. She's an alto/mezzo belter and the strong, independent woman type. She does have some dancing in the script but our Rosie wasn't much of a dancer and the choreography was simple and it was still a crowd pleaser.

Good luck with whatever show your school picks :)

Thanks but apparently we're pretty much set on doing Grease unless another area school does it first in which case I'll recommend Bye Bye Birdie.

Apparently the other school got to Grease first so we're for sure doing Footloose. With that in mind, I need audition songs. I'm ideally shooting for Ariel but given the current range of talent at school and their talents, I think I'm most likely to end up as Vi if I get in. I have songs that would work for both but the problem is that they're both from Mamma Mia. I already have auditioned with a Mamma Mia song for a previous school show so I don't want to be known as Mamma Mia girl. Are there any other songs from other modern-ish musicals that could work?
