 Singing trouble, help!
I'm really sorry if this doesn't belong in here but I couldn't find anywhere else to put it. I have upcoming auditions, and have therefore been practicing my singing a lot... but something strange has started happening. While singing, one of my ears will either pop or go crackly. It's very uncomfortable and makes it much harder to sing because I can't hear myself as well. Does anyone know what this could be or has experienced anything similar?

Disclaimer: I'm not a doctor, but I had my share of anatomy and biology in college. In other words, this is a TOTAL SWAG.
Nervousness, leading to increased blood pressure occluding something in the aural tract, maybe?
Stress does strange things to physiology.

 Re: Singing trouble, help!
The only thin I can think is that maybe you've got a bubble of water/fluid in your ear? That happened to me a couple months back as a side effect from a cold, so if you've been sick or had allergies that could cause it? Granted, my ear plugged and stayed plugged for five days, not just on and off when I was singing, so it could be something totally differenet. the bad news is, if it is water there's basicall nothing you can do about. Only thing I can suggest is going to a clinic and getting someone to take a look down there. Good luck!

 Re: Singing trouble, help!
If it's water, perhaps just regular OTC drops that are available for swimmer's ear would work.
It could also be ear wax. Especially if it hasn't gotten to the point that the wax has hardened, but just shifts around from the vibrations of you singing. They make OTC drops for that as well.

 Re: Singing trouble, help!
I was thinking it might be ear wax... Hope so anyway because that's a pretty easy solution. Thanks for your responses, I'll have to try the drops asap and hope for the best haha
