Post Is this a scene or a monologue?
So, for this drama competition my teacher told me about, we have to preform a scene that is under three minutes. Only seniors can do monologues . But I'm not really sure what the difference between a scene and a monologue is. I would be doing to scene by myself I believe. So, I was searching the internet and found this:

Would this be a scene or monologue? It is listed under monologues but IDK

PS: Sorry for sounding kind of stupid. :(

It's def. a monologue. A scene usually has more then 1 person in it. This one doesn't. If you plan on using it, I mean, i read over it, but there's a lot of scenes out there, and i see you went with a modernist choice, and it seems like there could be better ones out there. Especially for a competition! The 3 min time limit gives you 1000s of options!

ItsFriday, I think you need to clarify with your teacher or a classmate .. if it has to be a scene, than by the usual definition, you'll be doing it with one or more of your classmates, not by yourself. By definition, if it is performed by one person alone "on stage" it is a monologue.

i hope this helps!!!

It is clearly written directly below the title that it is a monologue. So, why arguing with that?
