 ELF: the musical
Playbill has announced that Elf, the Will Ferrell comedy from a couple of years ago will be a stage musical pretty soon:
Thoughts?
Later days

While I found the movie enjoyable, this feels like a "what other movies could we possibly put on the stage?" deal to me.

I think that it definitely could have potential on the stage but could also be a big flop too.

This is probably the best choice Broadway folk have made of recent movies to be adapted. It could make a heartwarming, yet quirky, holiday classic! It lends itself to music quite well, especially the main characters! I can't quite see New York City bursting into song and dance, but hey, it worked for Guys and Dolls, Annie, etc.

Actually not the worst idea for movie musical. Will Ferrell could come back to Broadway!
