Well, can't you feel for Demeter for how she is torn inside about her feelings for Macavity? And how Munkustrap has to deal with his evil brother?

no because they have no character development.

munkustrap and his brother arent exactly Brick and Gooper

Ignorance is not a good way to win arguments.

I wasn't trying to win through ignorance, I just said I didn't know the reference.

That is the dumbest, most pretentious thing to say.

no its not Cat On A Hot Tin Roof is considered one of the 10 essential plays. If you are a theatre fan you have come across it at least once. after all there are 3 different filmed versions of the piece and its been on mounted on broadway 5 times. Regional,Coolege and Community theatres do the show often.
Its in every public library and book store.

How can anyone define what is essential? I've never seen the movies on tv or in the shops. What does broadway have anything to do with it? That would make such a difference to me. And I have never been aware of a community theatre doing the show around here. Not that I would probably risk the money on something I have no idea about and it is quite likely I would hate. Not all of us are rich.
