 Musicals that make you happy
I've realized recently that every time I listen to a song from "The Sound of Music", I just can't help but feel happy! Does anyone else have a musical that makes them feel happy?

Well Mitzio,
I bet you can judge from my profile I am quite the fan of sound of music, but I am also very big on Oklahoma right now. I am in one of those stages where every time I hear one of those songs it relates to my childhood and I crack a massive smile! Love it so much!

Re: Musicals that make you happy
I would have to say Wicked would be one of them. The inspiring, touching songs make me happy.
I don't mean to be ironic when I say the next musical but Next to Normal also makes me happy but in a different way. It makes me happy in the fact that the songs and all of the characters relate to a part of myself. When I sing the songs, I draw closer to myself and find hope and fear in the songs.

Once Upon a Mattress. It's just so lighthearted and slightly naughty and fun.

Hairspray recently has made me go into shockwaves of excitement. I saw the Australian cast and think that there is no better Australian musical to date that has captured me so much. And it was even better afterwords because I got to meet the cast! Everyime I wake up, I sing Good Morning Baltimore! >.<

It's impossible for me to listen to anything from Godspell and not crack a smile.

See What I Wanna See actually makes me feel happy, mainly towards the end with 'There Will Be a Miracle'. That really is the most heartwarming song I've heard in a while.

Avenue Q - the Money Song gets me every time YAGMCB - it's a song called "Happiness" Into the Woods (act 1 = happy, act 2 = bittersweet) Last 5 Years - again, bittersweet, but i love the song "Goodbye until tomorrow", it's happy for Cathy anyway

Re: Musicals that make you happy
The Little Mermaid is probably my biggest instant-happiness show. Catch Me If You Can also just makes me beam in kind of a stupid, childish way, but I think it may have just been the fact that it was my first Broadway show.
I'm sure there are others but those are the ones on the top of my head.

I find it impossible to listen to "Book of Mormon" and not smile. It's very sweet and uplifting.
