Then you may want to watch the Charles Dance version. It's pretty much a non-musical version and it's way less campy.

I saw the Charles Dance movie...I actually liked it (not to mention the Phantom Reviewers review of it). They had good dubbers I must say and filming at at the actual Paris Opera House was a genius movie. I'm only irked that we didn't see the Phantom's face...
