Post 2012 Tony Awards Day: The Thread
Hi kids,

So, put your Tony Awards thoughts here, what's going on, what you liked, what you didn't like etc.

Also, IM Brooke at musicmunki23 who's running the AIM chat to get in.

Wow… Jesus Christ Superstar and Ghost were so embarrassing! I'm so grateful that Newsies won for Choreography! Not too pleased with all the Once awards, but what to do? Audra McDonald getting a tony was fabulous! And it's cool that Starcatcher got the quadruple award for designs! I loved the Newsies number, but I am in general a little disappointed by the performances shown. And what's up with the slow version of Money Kept Rolling In?

I'm very pleased Once won eight awards, although it should've taken Best Choreography as well. I look forward to the day I get to see the show. "Hello!" and "If Life Were More Like Theatre" were both great performances, although there were boring numbers as well. I found my mind wandering during the Webber songs. So far as predictions go, I was 19 for 26. Corden and McGrath's upsets screwed me over, along with the close race between Garfield and Borle. Overall, I enjoyed this year's ceremony and as always, look forward to next year's.

While it was exhilarating to watch and the paper acts were amusing, it felt really showy after a while. Maybe it works better in context with what's going on? All the back flips and what have you seemed like overkill.

Regarding JCS, I was hoping they'd chose another song, quite frankly.

Lol. I freaked out at Titanic too (bought the BW recording last week).

Why don't they have a category for best song/tune? They do for the Oscars.
