I've just started to do this on Facebook and thought it would be a great thread for the next month or so. The idea is you post a video every day for 30 days for a different musical theatre question.
DAY ONE: Your first musical (I've taken this to mean the first musical you were involved in or saw... whichever was first)
My first school musical was Bugsy Malone in 1996 or 1997... !

I first saw Starlight Express in Bocchum in 1993, only a couple of months old.

Day 1: Your first musical
The first musical I remember seeing was the 1999-2000 tour of Annie. I've been told I saw other shows before that (The Music Man comes to mind as one that has been mentioned), but this is the first one I remember seeing. My grandparents took my sister and I to see it. They took us to see the most recent tour a few years ago as well. It's also one of the first movies I remember seeing beyond Barney and Donut Man videos.
The first "real" musical I was in was Charlie in the Chocolate Factory in 2005. Most of the songs we used were written by our MD, but we had this one in there as well. It was during that performance that I "caught the acting bug", as some would say.

The first musical that I ever saw was Cats and I was too young to appreciate it at the time.

The first musical I saw was Annie Get Your Gun with Bernadette Peters, in 1996 or 1997.

The Music Man. My very first musical (that I performed in). I was in 4th grade and I thought I was hot stuff, because I was the only elementary schooler in a middle school production. On top of that, I was a freaking borderline lead as Winthrop Paroo, because, obviously, I'm a beast. I know, I know, the 2003 movie is a hot mess on every level, but I love the high energy and "let's put on a show!" of this particular version of the song. I would watch it over and over and over again when I was in the show! Haha, brings back memories... But seriously, this was like 2004, IIRC. It was such a great experience, and Music Man remains one of my absolute favorites.

Mine is How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying . It started with the movie, based on the musical, and I loved it so much. I've seen clips of the first revival, and would love to see the new one, if I could ever get to New York.
