Aghhh
Can it be Monday? That means my director for 13 will be back in the office, hopefully with more librettos (libretti?). BECAUSE I NEED A SCORE TO TAKE TO MY VOCAL LESSON TO LEARN MY HARMONIES. Frustrated, because if I leave my lesson booking too late, my coach may already be busy. I only have until Thursday to have a lesson...Friday, I'm seeing Legally Blonde, and Saturday I leave for camp for 2 weeks. Then I'm home for 2 nights, then off to Michigan. After I get back, it's straight into 13 rehearsals, where we have to be off-book. I have less than a week to make sure I've got the fundamentals of my harmonies down properly and can regurgitate them properly when asked. Obviously I'm bringing a little fold-up keyboard to camp (it's legitimately little plastic keys on fabric with a sound box, but it gets the job done in a pinch), but it's an issue of me using the right technique (especially on a particularly high "I can't wait to come to your party" in the opening number) that I really can't sort out by myself if I don't get this lesson booked.
That was my rant.

Just got back from Everyday Rapture. Sherie Rene Scott is a goddess, and I'm kicking myself for not stage dooring because I thought she didn't normally come out. I'm going to have to go back before it closes and try to meet her.

Alright, here goes...
Is it weird that (even though they are not held in the highest regard) I want to do Cats and Phantom at least once in my lifetime? Maybe it's because my vocal coach was in two professional German productions of Cats and a Canadian production of Phantom, and he always has the BEST stories to tell...haha.
Speaking of Cats, I found out the other day that the girl who's playing Lucy in the production of 13 I'm in next month had a vocal coach a few years ago who played Grizabella alongside my vocal coach's Gus in Stuttgart. Small world.

Most people here profess that they want to be in Wicked or Hairspray, so I'm guessing it isn't weird in the sense of unusual.

Just got back from the bestie's birthday dinner, complete with loud Russian family.
I'm supposed to be going to a BBQ tomorrow with my boyfriend...but I totally don't want to. Like, we went to a BBQ that his friends were throwing a few weeks ago, and I don't think the invitation was actually extended to like, girlfriends and stuff, so I got a lot of dirty looks, and I'm worried about that happening again this week. Now we're going to another party where he'll know everyone, I won't know anyone, and now he told me to bring my bathing suit. I DO NOT want to be in a bathing suit in front of people I don't know. No way.
It's just going to be so awkward and I really don't want to go.
