 Re: Glee
I thought it was a strong first episode, and one of the better episodes the series has offered. I felt like they were conscious of keeping the characters believable. Much better than the horrid Rachel-reverts-back-to-her-egotistical-bitch-self-plot of last year's first episode.
I'm entirely sick of the Darren Criss fangirls. yet, I can't really dislike Blaine. The moment he came on screen, part of me melted inside.
I really liked Rachel in this episode, and all of her scenes with Kurt. I adored the scene in the car between the two of them.
I disliked Anything Goes/ Anything You Can Do. The girl wasn't that great. She was good. But, Rachel is much better. Also, it was completely ridiculous when the dancers were dancing insanely fast AND singing perfectly and fast. Like, I realize that they can do more tiring dances in film cause they aren't ACTUALLY singing, but that's the first time I've ever seen anything that made me laugh out loud.
I think every episode should feature Will shirtless.
I didn't like the beginning of You Can't Stop the Beat, but I enjoyed the rest of the song. I also loved Ding Dong the Witch is Dead.
I'm looking forward to episode two.

 Re: Glee
It's funny, but I felt completely different about "You Can't Stop The Beat". I enjoyed Rachel's slow intro, but really didn't enjoy the second half. I mean I actually did when I was watching it, but in hind site I felt it lacked energy. I did like all the other songs featured though. Totally agree with you about the car scene with Rachel and Kurt. I was so glad that they finally had something happen to them that shook their core. I think one of my favorite moments in this episode was when the camera focused on Will and Emma's lunchboxes. Wonder Woman and Superman. Brilliant tongue and cheek humor right there. I'm kinda liking angsty Quin. It will be interesting to see how long this lasts. This opener was by far one of the best. No doubts there. I am cautiously awaiting to see how episode 2 turns out. Let's hope the writers learned from their mistakes in Season 2.

 Re: Glee
Lawl, Quinn's new getup.
Wtf Mercedes's new boyfriend looks twice her age.
Rachel, when have you ever demonstrated legit soprano?
No, Kurt, I still don't like you. I don't think I will until you get punched in the face.
Oh, look, Blaine is still getting solos. Nice to see the status quo is still being upheld!

 Re: Glee
I'm going to save my thoughts on how disgusted I was by Quinn because I'm hoping that it will be somewhat better by next week. And I loved the ending as is, but for some reason I would have loved it if Santana and Quinn sang the Von Tussle's verse.
The fact that Blaine transferred to McKinley to be closer to the whiniest most obnoxious boy ever makes him either incredibly naive or incredibly romantic. Either way, Darren Criss is a charmer and he's making the most out of atrocious writing.
This is not me being a prude, but there are a hundred better ways to introduce Will and Emma living together. There was no dialogue setting it up, nothing to prepare us for it; just do a pan over to Emma next to Will in bed and there's your explanation. A better way to set it up may have been Will doing a voice-over saying something like "I got a new roomate" and then show him kissing Emma on his way to work.

 Re: Glee
How difficult could it have possibly been to have him say "yeah, my family's kinda hurting for money, so we decided it'd be best if I transferred to a public school" or something? At least then there'd be some kind of in-universe justification. I mean, how many parents are going to let their kid change schools because of a boyfriend?
Also, it makes Kurt come off as manipulative. Again.

 Re: Glee
Yeah the episode sucked for all the reasons stated above. Shame too. Glee's premieres and finales used to be their strongest episodes.

 Re: Glee
Too early to start a Dianna Agron for Best Support Actress in a Comedy Emmy campaign? That scene where she looked at the baby's photo and slowly started crying was so heartbreaking.
Overall, a wayyy better episode than the premiere, although I'm already starting to tire of the ridiculousness that is Sue and her storyline. I do like the theme of the episode though, which was about how our characters are perceived by others and how they perceive themselves. It seems like that theme will be pervasive throughout the season, so should be interesting!

 Re: Glee
I think the season's off to an amazing start, actually. And Diana's all right, but definitely not Emmy worthy, right now. You can barely hear her sometimes. Her breath support is atrocious. With that said, she's doing a great job emotionally. I just had to rewind a few times because I couldn't understand a damn word she said, especially opposite Lynch and Menzel, who are both completely in charge of their resonance.
Anyways, the episode last night was terrific. Oh, and Darren Criss might be my new crush. Just saying...
P.S. WHERE THE ---- IS SANTANA?! West Side Story?! Again, just saying....

 Re: Glee
And now Fox changed it so that the episodes don't go up until eight days after airing. How utterly delightful.

 Re: Glee
If she doesn't end up singing A Boy Like That or America this season, I'll be pissed.

 Re: Glee
^^Literally though. And I'm not entirely sure why Mercedes and Rachel are vying for Maria, as it's not the best role in the show. Anita wins awards, not Maria. C'mon Lea. Shouldn't her character know this? Or even acknowledge it?
