Post Unpopular Opinions
I always enjoy doing these threads on other forums. Basically just post any unpopular opinions you hold, from musical theatre to politics, anything at all. It's often interesting to see how many people actually agree with you. I'll begin:

Kate Moss is not attractive.
Passion is a brilliant piece of work.
Hello, Dolly! is one of the most annoying shows I have ever seen.
Winter is better than Summer.
The Harry Potter novels are good stories but poor books.

Jekyll & Hyde could be a brilliant musical if the book was changed and there was no more celebrity stunt casting.

Gerard Butler made a great Phantom (given, he should have been dubbed or given more time to work on his voice.)

Coffee, sushi and soya sauce are disgusting.

A lot of traditional musical theatre is not only incredibly sexist, but also usually boring.

Tap is cool - for about 30 seconds. After that... I don't care what you do with your feet, I want to see more than "Look what my feet can do."

True, Robert Cuccioli's voice may not measure up to Anthony Warlow's in quality or richness, but his interpretation will always be the definitive one for me because of his expressiveness.

I like Summer better because it's not freezing cold!

The Harry Potter books are amazing! Book 7 was very sad, though.

I don't believe anything that's said in most magazines about celebrities (e.g National Enquirer, Star, Globe, etc.).

Spring Awakening is the most irritating, undeserving-of-praise musical I have had the misfortune to discover.

I can't quite comprehend Jerry Herman. There are times, for me atleast, that I'm not entirely sure he knows what he wants to convey in his songs.

Perhaps I should rephrase my HP one:
I think JK Rowling is a good storyteller but not a particularly good writer.

i totally agree. I couldn't see her writing anything other than the HP books as, even though I love them, the prose itself is actually not all that great. She did however come up with an AMAZING idea, which carries her mediocre writing, in my opinion.

Passion is boring.

Audra McDonald is not the second coming of Christ.

Spring Awakening is a good show.

Titanic is a mediocre, unremarkable musical.

No Country For Old Men is one of the most overrated movies ever.

Really? I think she is an excellent writer, solely for this line:

Filch wheezed, his jowls quivering unpleasantly, with the maniacal light of mischief-detection in his bulging eyes.

JK's got a great style! Her descriptions are vivid, character-specific and almost Roald Dahl-esque. Though I agree that in the last book, the writing wasn't very good.

Um... how are they sexist?

Guys with red hair are almost always incredibly hot. (Rupert Grint is the sexiest man alive!)
