I feel that it is. Why wouldn't it be? Otherwise all but the rich cannot get good medical treatment.

Theater:
-I think the West side story revival is probably the best thing on broadway right now.
-I don't really mind having disney musicals on broadway, I think they're usually pretty good.
-As hard as I try I really can't get into Shakespeare.
-I like a lot of the music in Grease but I'm really not a fan of the show, I think it has a terrible message.

Other (fyi, I'm not going to debate any of this):
-I really don't like the idea of organized religion, but I also don't like atheism. I feel like there's no way of proving anything so I'm not going to resign myself to one belief. I don't know what's going to happen after I die or if there's a higher power out there, I don't know how anyone could. So I'm just going to live my life being the best person I can be and what happens happens.
-I'm pro gay marriage and I see those who aren't as being no better then someone who would be against something like interracial marriage.
-I'm pro choice even though I would personally never get an abortion, but I don't see what gives me the right to dictate what other people do.
-I love the harry potter books and I don't think they're badly written at all.

I'll probably think of more later.

Some of these opinions are probably not as unpopular as they think they are, at least in 'theatre circles', I think - at least it seems e.g. "Cats" being terrible, that it is popular to have that opinion at the moment.

But whatev :P.

My unpopular opinions

- Bernadette Peters sang the best Rose!

I can't really be bothered to try and think of anything else.

Theatre Related:
1. I think Legally Blonde is a fantastic show. I'm not claiming that it's a deep, meaningful piece of theatre, but I think that it was a great movie-to-musical adaptation. The score is excellent, the lyrics are catchy and clever, and the characters are much more fleshed out than they were in the movie. Don't get me wrong- I'm not one of those spastic fangirls going "OMG, Legally Blonde is the best musical ever written in the whole universe!!!111!", but I appreciate that the show is fun, clever, upbeat, and very entertaining. It's a show I would absolutely love to be in, and one of the best I've seen on Broadway.
2. I'm not a huge fan of Rent. I like the score and listen to certain songs often, but the one time I saw it on stage it was a horrible production, and I just don't like it as much as most people do.
3. I've never gotten into Shakespeare. It's never been very interesting to me, and I feel like a bad actor for not liking it very much.
4. I love Wicked, but I think the likeability of the production absolutely depends on the cast. I've seen just okay actresses playing Elphaba and the show was entertaining but not moving. When I saw some great actresses in the role, however, it was a phenomenal experience.
5. I like Disney on Broadway shows, although I haven't actually seen one on Broadway (just on tours). I think they're a great way to introduce children to theatre, and I know quite a few kids who have started doing theatre camps and going to see other shows because they saw a Disney musical.
6. Seeing Mary Poppins was one of the most fun theatre experiences I've had over the past few months.

RIGHT ON!
Well, actually, Lansbury's my favorite Rose. But Peters is second for me. :D

I've got a few more.

I'm not for gay marriage at all. Not only the thought turns my stomach but also the higher possibilities to get STDs like AIDS.

I'm also anti-abortion. I think it as the equivalent as killing a child, unborn or otherwise.

I'm all for interracial marriage. Skin color should have nothing, and I mean NOTHING to do with being with the one you care about most.

Now for more theatre related stuff:

I also really enjoy Wicked. The music can be very well-sung and has a very interesting plot that I believe ties in rather well with that of Wizard of Oz.

The film version of Sweeney Todd is perhaps one of my favorite stage-to-screen adaptations. The cast was well-chosen, and the blood and gore doesn't stop me from watching it several times over.

........How could there be a high possibility for STDs like AIDS if they are married and committed to one partner.....

Ohhh, let's see.

1. I don't like "A Very Potter Musical".
2. tick, tick... BOOM! is better than RENT.
3. The best music was written before 1985.
4. Music sounds better on vinyl.
5. I can't abide Twinkies.
6. Nothing makes me happier than a political debate. :)

There are more, but I'm hungry and can't think of them. LOL!

I guess this isn't open for discussion?

Padding simple sentences with excessive adjectives and adverbs is a hallmark of bad writing.

They aren't excessive, though. It's great imagery and adds detail and specificity, to the character's advantage. It's only bad writing when the adjectives are unnecessary, and in this particular case, they describe the moment perfectly.

I hate The Phantom of the Opera. Sorry, it's not God's gift to the MT world.

I strongly disliked Angela Lansbury's Mrs. Lovett.

I love 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' but other than that, I cannot get through a single Shakespeare show.

I actually love Legally Blonde, and also, I thought the touring cast from Chicago (with Lauren Ashley Zarkin as performing Elle) was a way better live performance than the OBC and was one of the most electric performances I've ever seen.

I have never seen West Side Story, but from what I've heard of it, I don't think I'd like it. Blasphemy? I think not.

Despite the fact that her singing was atrocious, I actually really enjoyed Helena Bonham Carter's rendition of Mrs. Lovett.

I cannot stand Sutton Foster in anything.

EDIT: (I thought of more)

I understand that seniority/favoritism is a fact of life in the theatre world, but I think it's all f*cking ridiculous. I hate directors who cast people based on things that have happened OUTSIDE of the audition. Despite the fact that it could screw me or my peers over occasionally, I believe that a stellar audition is the only reason to give someone a lead role.

Gene Wilder in any role was incredible.

I do not like In The Heights. I'm sorry.

I hate teenage girls who think they can sing any role so they go around yodeling like Maria from SoM and belting like Elphaba in Wicked. You will get no where with that attitude. Figure out what types of characters you can play, and stick to that. I'm all for ambition, but....
