Take that monstrosity off youtube. I happen to adore this song because I've done it and I feel possessive for it. I realize that you are an opera major and so you're not really about acting, but it was really painful to watch you do this number. The acting is crucial to the success of this number. I commend you for trying because I could see that you were putting in little attempts at giving it some personality, but you didn't go far enough. Every time you made half a gesture or hinted at what expression you wanted to register, I was like, "Good thought, but you didn't follow through." Yes, it's a vocally demanding song. But the acting is even more important. (And I don't want to be a douchebag, but your voice is good - not outstanding. So you really shouldn't be putting yourself in a situation where you're relying solely on the voice. Just sayin.)
