Re: The 'Just Got Cast' Thread Was just cast as Henrik in "A Little Night Music". Excited and scared. Mainly because I'm not a tenor. I have an Ab, but it's the two B's that I'm worried about. I do find it funny that someone recommended I be Henrik in the 5 roles for above person thread, though.

Re: The 'Just Got Cast' Thread Was asked to play Mabel in Pirates of Penzance. I didn't think I'd be considered (see RF thread). I'm very flattered but very nervous. Anyone who knows the show really well or been in it before- what is the best recording to listen to?

Re: The 'Just Got Cast' Thread Most opera company recordings would be a decent choice, I know the Simon Gallaher one (More modern in orchestration/broadway in style) has all of the songs on youtube and their Mabel was pretty good. I will say however: Stay away from the movie! Linda is relatively despised by the opera community for her performance. Just my opinion- for the most part- But it's a start. Congrats! I hope it goes well!

Re: The 'Just Got Cast' Thread MattZ2007-Way to go! That show rarely gets done, so you're very lucky. I'm sure you'll do fine with the B's; it's not that far off from an Ab.
ActingDude17- Congrats on a great show, but Brett is one of the worst male roles in the show. Are you disapointed?

Re: The 'Just Got Cast' Thread I can understand it. I think that her performance in the stage version was good, but there was something about the film that rubbed me the wrong way. Maybe it's that her performance was meant more for stage than film, or something of the same nature.
