I love a lot of the music that Robert gets, but I just really don't like Peter Joback's voice. And as the recording is the only real exposure I have to the show, that counts for a lot.
I didn't even think that maybe someone wanted to replicate the unconventional casting success that they had with Crawford. Who knows, Peter Joback might straighten up (no pun intended

). I think that musical theatre in general would be in pretty dire straits if gay men were unable to play straight, and vice versa.

I don't think that that will be a real factor.
Maybe it was just the cinema... At any rate I'll be quite happy to have the DVD so I can modulate the sound for myself. I can be such an old biddy about volume.
