I've seen several posts about this question and I wanted to see what it is for Phantom? Aside from Homer saying that the Phantom being the gayest villain.....

Haha yes, I hate it when people are like "PotO is an opera, not a musical, so why is it on broadway?" Or "Why are they singing in english? It's an opera."

There's two points of stupidity in that statement.
1. PotO is not an opera. 2. A handful of English language operas do actually exist, such as Purcell's Dido and Aeneas.
Jeez...

Random Classmate: The Phantom of the Opera's about talking mirrors to young prostitutes in operas.
Me: Uhm, no.
Random Classmate: YUH-HUH I'VE SEEN THE MOVIE AND I'VE LISTENED TO THE SOUNDTRACK. YOU'RE A DUMB BUTT.
Me: I've seen the movie too. And the soundtrack. And the Original London Cast Recording. And I've seen it on stage. And I've only obsessed about it for the past three years. And I've been listening to it from the womb.
Random Classmate: YOU SUCK. GO AWAY.
Me: I hate people.

Re: Silliest Phantom Thing I've Heard
That's definitely an opinion.
I admit though, it's nowhere near as moving as some other musicals I've recently fallen in love with. It's so close to my heart that it'll never leave, but Titanic, Sunday in the Park With George, Sweeney Todd, Into the Woods, Parade, Ragtime, Grey Gardens, The Secret Gardens, and Grand Hotel are just so much more moving.
