 playing fred
My high school is doing this show and I am extremly excited I was cast as Fred which has always been a dream role for me (huge Carol Burnett fan). Rehearsals haven't started yet because of the community theater production of TSOM most of the cast is in or involved in. They start next monday.
Does anyone have any advice on how to play Fred?
I know she is supposed to be a foil to Larken so I was going to see how Alyssa plays her. I know I don't want Fred to just be over the top and obnoxious I think she should be a deeper charcter than that...I'm just having a little trouble figuring out what I'm missing...I have a while but the sooner I start to develope my character the better my performance will be

Fred is not only outspoken, but strong, and optimistic as well. She wants to show others the best in themselves and she brightens every persons life she touches. She also wants to get married, she's almost desperate, part of her may feel hurt that she hasn't been accepted by a man before. Congrats on such a wonderful role. Have fun with it and play around with her character.
