OK, got the new film Higgins...
And it's Charles Shaughnessey!! I think he'll be perfect; much more simpatico than that irritating Hugh Laurie.
Will start a campaign to have Shaughnessey take the role.

---- the new film.
even if they did make it..no one could beat Sir Rex. the only person I would give a blessing to is Jeremy Irons.

If that were the case, I would buy a one-way ticket to Britain and proceed to lie, cheat, and steal to be cast as Eliza. Possibly set up some "accidents" as well.

This post is so very old, but it made me crack up, so it deserved reviving And I'm right there with you. I would be my most devious to get a chance to be in the same room with Alan Rickman mwahaha.

Hugh Grant?
is this real? i hope they don't there is something classic about the old one.....plus the way movie musicals are going today..its hard to get legit singers of merit (my opinion). we will see how les miz goes.

Re: OK, got the new film Higgins...
no..Grant has been out of the running for ages..thank god. No one can top Sir Rex in the original..but IF this film gets made Firth would be an excellent choice. my hope though is that the film is done for.
