 Best Seymour?
I'm just wondering who everyone thinks is the best Seymour from the three LSOH recordings.

i have to say rick moranis...he's so cool! he looks so seymour-ish. i think hunter does too, but at the tony's, he had an uncanny resemblense [ahh, can't figure out the spelling!] to jack osbourne...

 Unfair question
I think that is an unfair question. Each one has his own strengths. Lee Wilkoff was the original, i mean he created the part in my opinion. Rick Moranis probably had the best look and depth to the character. and Hunter Foster is by the best vocally. It is difficult to say, so if possible, i would like to cast my vote for all three. Thank you.

If we're talking the recording...definately Lee. I can't comment on live performances as I've only seen the movie and the revival. Hunter was good, but I don't understand the Tony nom.

LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS: Best Seymour
For me, it is Rick Moranis all the way in terms of both his look and his sound. I've never warmed to Lee Wilkof's vocals and while I probably enjoy Hunter Foster more than just about anything else in the revival, I don't enjoy his take on the role as much as I enjoy Moranis's.

Rick Moranis. I think because I saw the movie first has influenced my opinion.

 Re: Best Seymour?
Rick by far. He was really ideal casting.
Hunter foster was awful. too good looing..felt like he was imitating a nerd. the revival had a stron cast otherwise.. Kerry butler was great, Doug Sills amazing, and Rob Bartlett was a perfect Mushnick.

 Best Seymour?
1. Hunter Foster was not awful. He was not as good as Rick Moranis, but he was still a good Seymour. 2. Yes, he is good looking, but geeks can be attractive too, especially when they take off their glasses. 3. No, it did not feel like he was imitating a nerd. And Kerry Butler was ideal for Audrey, but she was directed poorly.
Fin.

 Re: Best Seymour?
Kerry Butler is hilarious in everything she does. I don't think she was directed poorly, I think Audrey just doesn't have to be Ellen Greene. I love Hunter as Seymour!

 Re: Best Seymour?
Rick Moranis is just perfect for the role. He is funny and very nerdy.

 Re: Best Seymour?
I can't stand the movie for a larger number of reasons, so yeah, Moranis is not my favorite person in the role. He's too nebbish and frustratingly ambiguous in his intentions (which is part of why we ended up with that terrible revised ending in the first place). Foster is okay, but too over-the-top (as is the entirety of the 2003 production).
So, yeah. Wilkoff. He's sincere in a way the others aren't (though it would be terrific if we had a video recording of his performance to compare-- he's the only one I have to go on by audio alone).
