It looks like he will have a beard throughout the movie after all. I'm actually kind of glad. It may not be historically accurate, but the beard is such a part of the iconic image of musical!Valjean. Keeping it is the least they can do if they're getting rid of The Vest. :D

Tons of pictures of the students, including Aaron and Eddie:

George Blagden,. who plays Grantaire, can be seen standing in front of the hearse on the viewer's lower right, wearing a red cap and green waistcoat.

I think Aaron looks perfect, just like the Greek god Enjolras was supposed to resemble.

Everything looks absolutely perfect. At least the visual aspect is already likely to be what I hoped for.

OK, I did imagine Enjolras looking a bit more refined or in some way that makes him stand out but he mostly blends in. No biggie, even if it did make me think of the 25th ann. Pick n' Save aesthetic. (the hair, and ONLY because it reminded me of Enjy's afro from that production, not the costume which looks fab).

Plus, it just generally makes him look a bit older. Which is probably a good thing given that in movies a male actor Jackman's age and a female actress Seyfried's age are not infrequently cast as lovers, rather than parent/child.

I think those photos are from a costume fitting, I don't think it means he'll have his beard when he is Monsieur Madeleine or in the Paris scenes, I really hope he doesn't.

He shaved the beard completely off right after the convict scenes were over, so my guess is that the pictures were taken while he was growing the beard out. He won't have one as the Mayor, I don't think, but he might have one in Paris.

An article with pictures of Russell Crowe in his "spy" getup.

Which raises the question: what scene is this? The uploader of the previously-posted video claimed it was DYHTPS, but Javert's presence makes me suspect it might be "One Day More." Could the Youtube person be wrong? Or is Hooper inserting Javert into DYHTPS?

Perhaps it's the DYHTPS part in One Day More they were filming

Looks to me like they're going to have him infiltrate the students a lot earlier than ODM. I don't think he sings in DYHTPS, he's just in the crowd. We might not see him until the chaos starts, after the song is over and the army moves in to break things up.

Which is fine, he doesn't do anything in Act I after Stars. And it makes sense to have him among the students for a while and not just show up after ODM. The students wouldn't trust him if they weren't used to seeing him around.

He can still sing his ODM lines, he'll just do them dressed as a student. I think it'll still be pretty clear that he's a spy (maybe he'll be saying them to the soldiers or other policemen or something).

They might also have a brief scene showing him getting the orders to spy on the students. I always thought him spying on the students wasn't explained all that well in the show, if you didn't catch his lines in ODM about joining the 'schoolboys', you really wouldn't know what he was doing there. That's probably one of the things they'll make more clear in the film.

According to this audio clip, it's Do You Hear the People Sing? that they've been filming.

I wonder if they change the solo parts of DYHTPS to an all chorus version. I imagine a cut from Enjolras "..come when we caaall" in the Cafe to the procession where all of them begin to sing it.
