 Why Do Joseph?
This is obviously a fun show, but why do Joseph now?

 Re: Why Do Joseph?
I just finished a run (as Pharaoh) and while it's still far from my favorite show, it's begrudgingly gotten a bit more respect from me. But even at the start, I didn't question the wisdom of the group choosing to put it on...
it's got tangentially familiar source material, presents it in a colorful, fun way, and doesn't really have dead points in the show -- the whole thing is pretty much on rails once from the time the Narrator starts Act I. Kids seem to like it (bright colors! Repeated songs! Funny costumes!) and parents feel safe about taking them to it, which is a plus.
