Post Auditioning for Adelaide?
Just abit of info about Adelaide and some help for your audition.
Adelaide must be able to sing from about a low A to a high D. She needs to be able to belt most of her songs. Shes a comedic role, so has too be very expressive, most of the time cutesy, but she is very nagging too. Her accent needs to be perfect, so what would really allow you to stand out in auditions if u watch the G and D movie and get a feel for her accent. Its squeaky and high pitched. She can be a bit of a ditz but she makes the audience laugh and love her!!!
She dances quite abit so you need to be able to MOVE.
She has really fantastic songs in the whole show and she needs to be able to be affectionate with her co lead Nathan.
Some audition songs could be south pacific songs- Nellie's songs or "diamond's are a girls best friend". as long as it is a character belter piece.
she's a confident character so you must be confidently performing your audition song and try to be cute but not 'little kid' cute more lovable.
i hope tht makes sense and helps anyone trying out for such a cool character!
