 Hodel Audition Song Help
Okay, I have a big book of classical musical theatre songs for sopranos (I think it's the Singer's Musical Theatre Anthology). Auditions are at the end of the month and I really want to be considered for Hodel... so I need a killer song (especially since I've never done a show with this particular community theatre). I've made a list of songs that I'm seriously considering, but I can't decide on one. Here's what I've got so far:
I Loved You Once in Silence - Camelot
If I Loved You - Carousel
Much More - Fantasticks
No Other Love - Me and Juliet I Could Have Danced All Night - My Fair Lady Out of My Dreams - Oklahoma
The last three are the ones I'm considering the most. The first three are more generic choices or ones that I've heard people used successfully for Hodel auditions. No Other Love and Out of My Dreams really show the romantic side of Hodel and Perchik's relationship, while I Could Have Danced All Night showcases Hodel's excitement after the wedding scene and the shift in her thinking from traditional values to new things she would never have tried before (like marrying without Tevye's permission/arrangement).
Please help me pick a great audition song from this list =D

No question that "Far From The Home I Love" should be on your list. Julia Migenes-Johnson's recording of it on the original Broadway cast album (available on CD) is especially haunting.

I'm apprehensive on singing a song from the show simply because I know various directors HATE that. If I had worked with the theatre before, I might not mind as much. However, I would hate to sing the song and then be immediately cast off simply because I sang a song from the show or, worse, interpreted in a way that was different than the director's vision.
But thanks for the suggestion!
