We have posted a deal on Evita tickets this morning. Not many opportunities will arise for this show as it's selling quite well. I hope you can work with the offer and we'll see you this summer.

I saw the deal! I'm kind of anoyed I've already bought my tickets now... Not really, but still so great that they're doing deals.
Mistress, the Ophelia was more mature than I was used to, actually about Hamlet's age. Because she was older, her madness and her regression into childhood held more significance than when Ophelia is about seventeen.
He was just everywhere! I swear I wouldn't ahve been surprised if he had stood on his head while saying 'to be or not to be'. For a good amount of his antic disposition scenes he's running around barefoot. He just brought a dynamism to the role that you don't usually see.
And I know, I thought of Doctor Who as well. Plus, Patrick Stewart played Claudius, so I was imagining some sort of Doctor Who vs. Star Trek war offstage some of the time.

The Star's finally started publishing reviews. As You Like It got a great 3 1/2 stars out of 4 and just a bout a rave review. Kiss Me Kate unfortunately only got a lukewarm review, with Ouzunian blaming Doyle for retty much everything...

And in the Saturday paper, there was an absolutely beautiful interview with Brent Carver:

Still waiting on Evita and keeping my fingers crossed...

I don't know if you saw what J. Kelly Nestruck had to say about the two shows that have opened this week or not. He gave As You Like It 4 out of 4 and Kiss Me, Kate 3 out of 4.

Evita opens tomorrow so you'll find reviews late Thursday/early Friday.

Chillina Kennedy is getting some incredible publicity for Evita. Josh Young and Juan Chioran are getting great notices too. I simply cannot wait to see that show! That and As You Like It, which seems to be kicking some serious ass review-wise. Despite my earlier reservations, it seems all Des McAnuff needed was a comedy.
EDIT- Also, if Richard Ouzonian is to be believed, Stratford's also doing Camelot next season. It will be very interesting to see how the director handles such a problematic show.

Ordered my tickets to Peter Pan on Friday XD
Seeing it in 1 1/2 weeks! 'Tis my early birthday present. Evita will happen later, with the rest of the family (as many as are wanting to go XD)...

As near as I can tell, no one has posted these yet. Some clips from Stratford's YouTube channel:
High Flying, Adored:

Don't Cry for Me Argentina:

A New Argentina:

I was a little dubious during the first few phrases of Don't Cry for Me Argentina, but Chillina won me over. I loved her in WSS last year but I'm still a little skeptical about her belting ability. The chorus and brass sound a little rough in A New Argentina. Che sounds good.
I wanna see this.

Yeah, I saw those and I have to agree; Chillina doesn't appear to belting as much as other Evas do. Maybe it's a good thing, maybe not. I know so far nobody has cited this as a problem in her performance during reviews; on the contrary, most seem to find no fault in her performance. But Chillina is such an extraordinary talent that I'm sure I'll enjoy her interpretation either way.
I like the Che. And I'm a part of the non-existent Juan Chioran Fan Club, so my opinion should be discounted, but he sounds great as Peron.
