Re: A SECOND PART OF EVITA??????
Yet I know this:
1. Madonna said that she was "the only one who could play the part for the film."
2. She studied EVERYTHING to do with the Peron's and the Peron administrartion. She even talked to people who were in the Peronist party to try and get insight into what Eva was like in person. "Everyone I talked to was either completely for her or completely against her. There was no middle ground." she said "So I had to ask myself 'Where's the truth in all of this?' "
3. While rehearsing "Don't Cry For Me, Argentina," Patti LuPone (yes, Patti LuPone) came in for her vocal warm-up and training with her (and Madonna's) teacher. She heard Madonna's rendition and said Madonna would do a great job! Very high praise if I do say so myself.
I like LuPone and Madonna. I wish Madonna would sing it again.
Stick that in your pipe and smoke it.
