Post Costume Question
Hi there,
my college is putting on a production of Cabaret and I am helping organize costumes. I was thinking of putting the Kit Kat Girls in character shoes, but I'm afraid they will make a lot of noise on our stage. Does anyone have any ideas for silencing character shoes (that wouldn't be too expensive as we are self-funded and have limited resources)?

You can take them to a shoe repairs place and get rubber soles affixed. That reduced the noise mine made considerably. But I don't know if that would end up being too expensive or not...

Stick a bit of fabric underneath them with some double sided tape?

Thanks - I've thought of rubber, but I'm worried about the price. Brackenn - do you remember how much it cost?
It would have to be fairly cheap as we have 6 kit-kat girls (all college students).

I've also heard of hot gluing felt to the bottom. Has anyone had any experience with that? I'm worried about it being slippery.

Rubberize them or nothing. These other ideas are not safe. And really, character shoes are not that hard. If you're that worried about it, use ballet teacher shoes.
